I wish my eyes could stay on HIM all the time!
Golf is one of my favorite things to do – I have learned the danger of taking my eyes off the ball 🙂
Psalm 16:8 says “I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken”
The Bible is full of people who had lapses when it came to their eyes/focus. Peter saw the waves, David noticed Bathsheeba, the spies saw the giants, etc. The difficulty with viewing our obstacles, finances, dysfunction, issues, criticisms and opposition is that it causes us to take our eyes off of HIM!
In 2 Kings 6, Elisha prays that his servant’s eyes would be opened so that he could see what God was really doing. Psalm 34:3 says “Oh magnify the Lord” – my prayer is that we will see more of what God is doing in our lives, families, finances and ministries!
The good news for me (and you) is that the Bible says His eyes are on us! Psalm 33 says “His eyes are on those who reverence Him and on those who trust in His unfailing love”….there’s no substitute for knowing His eyes are on the sparrow and they’re also watching over you and I.
I love those spiritual moments when our eyes meet!
