Rhythms of Grace

Have you ever battled fatigue?  Have you ever felt weak?  The Bible gives us examples of great individuals like David, Paul, Elijah and others that went through seasons of strain and a sense of being overwhelmed.  What do you do when you sense your strength is waning?  Where do you turn when you feel you’re not functioning as Christ intended?
The definition of weakness: lacking strength, not able to function properly.

Matthew 11:29
28-30 “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

On Monday morning, we stopped everything (as a staff) for well over an hour and just had quiet time as Pastor Adam strummed a guitar.  The Bible says that sometimes it’s healthy to “Be Still”…..When is the last time you had a real rest?  A vacation?  Quiet time with Jesus?  Play time with your kids?  Time for yourself without feeling guilty?
Life doesn’t work best when it’s out of rhythm!  Don’t feel guilty when you need to refocus or realign your life.  Don’t negate the God approved “grace” of rest and refreshing in your life.
Are you ready to recover?  Do you need restored?  Read these words again and let them speak to your soul – “Get away with me and you’ll recover your life”.
