Have you ever felt in-effective?
Do you wait for the right connection or break to somehow be your key to success?
What if our effectiveness came out of our effort?
I’m not saying our abilities, talents or works is the sole answer – I simply question if maybe effort is needed for our potential to come to fruition in our lives. The definition of “effort” is hard work, to give your mental or physical energy to see something happen.
I remember hearing the statement years ago “it will work if you work it” – what could work in your life if you would work it? Your Marriage? Business? Education? Health? Your Ministry?
Am I making an effort to see the purpose of God come to pass in my life?
Am I willing to work hard?
As I read in my devotion time today, I noticed a recurring theme in this passage – make an effort. I was personally encouraged to “make an effort” to be the best dad, husband, father, man that I can be.
2 Peter 1
5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge;
6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness;
7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love….
10 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election….
12 So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have.
13 I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body,
14 because I know that I will soon put it aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me.
15 And I will make every effort to see that after my departure you will always be able to remember these things….
Let’s make an effort 🙂 It’s worth it!
