Have you ever thought life would be easier if we never made mistakes? What if we could master parenting, finances, ministry, relationships, communication…..would we learn to grow simply from success?
The truth is, many of the greatest lessons you and I will ever learn are from experiences that include difficult times. The Bible challenges us to value the process, to gain experience, to get up when we fall – to pick up the pieces and grasp the hope that He can still work it for good!
I recently read this blog (from Neil G) about mistakes and wanted to share it with you:
“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.
Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re Doing Something.
So that’s my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody’s ever made before. Don’t freeze, don’t stop, don’t worry that it isn’t good enough, or it isn’t perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life.
As I read these words, I was once again challenged to dream, take risks, believe, hope….my prayer for you in 2014 is that you will believe in your GREATER! I hope that you will embrace a “faith kinda life” that propels you forward (even if you & I make some mistakes along the way).
Learn. Grow. Change. Improve. Dream again. Try again.
